4Plus is an initiative by Armenian women photographers with the aim to develop documentary photography and to empower women in Armenia and beyond. This collective organisation was founded by Anahit Hayrapetyan, Anush Babajanyan, and Nazik Armenakyan in the summer of 2012, after realizing that they shared the same concerns and difficulties in their careers as women photographers in Armenia. Empowering not only women photographers, and women in general, but all those whose rights are being violated, by bringing their issues to light, has been the core of their activity.
Each has been committed to documenting social issues, violations of human rights, and visualising cultural particularities for many years. The team works on photographic projects collectively and individually and organize
workshops, exhibitions and lectures, in partnerships with enlightening individuals and organisations who join us in our cause.
Currently members are Nazik Armenakyan, Anahit Hayapetyan, Piruza Khalapyan and
Nelli Shishmanyan.
